Raziq said on Sunday that he had ordered his border police forces to respond with force to militant attacks emanating from across the border in Pakistan.
Raziq declared that the Afghan border forces had already begun attacking terrorists on the other side of the border. "Our enemies fire on us 100 meters away from Pakistani forces, which is a clear evidence, and our goal is also to eliminate them," Raziq stated.
Affirming Raziq's instruction, the MoI officials expressed Monday that the Afghan border police are authorized to respond attacks launched from across the border.
"There is no doubt that our Army outposts have been targeted from across the border for several years," MoI spokesman Sediq Sediqi said. "It was clarified in Raziq's statements that our forces will respond to the attacks that target our own outposts."
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) officials called on Pakistan to not allow the insurgents launch attacks on the Afghan territory.
"They [insurgents] attack our Army and civilians in our soil. We hope Pakistan will no longer allow existence of terrorist hubs on its soil," MoD deputy spokesman Dawlat Waziri said.
A number of Parliament members have also supported Raziq's instruction and called on the government to have clear position against insurgents.
"Raziq's instruction can be very effective but it's not enough just for a police commander but the government also needs to have the same stance against militants," lawmaker Zalmai Mujadidi said.
The instruction against militants came in response to frequent attacks of insurgents on Afghan outposts at the country's border areas.
